Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Deaken earned arguably his break-out role in 2019 playing Winston Williams in seasons three and four of the highly popular Netflix series, ‘13 Reasons Why.’ After graduating, Deaken moved to Los Angeles and quickly landed several indie features, including ‘Americana’ (2017), and then the ‘First Love’ series (2019). Deaken discovered his love for art and acting through his grandmother, actress Shirley Bluman, writing and making art from an early age. Having grown up in the woods, Deaken has an affinity with nature, and now enjoys the tranquility of the Topanga Canyon mountains, California, where he can be found sampling local cuisine and 60’s-inspired shops, or playing pool out in his backyard whilst never far from his canine companion. Taken so closely with his surroundings, Deaken now grows his own food and strongly believes in a holistic approach to self-sufficiency. Having starred in the D by Diesel fragrance campaign, Deaken has been compared to a young James Franco, with the intensity of Marlon Brando, and is poised to make his mark in the industry.
